They were treated inhumanely and while some were released others were still being held.

15	6-2-98	71 missing civilians			Mullaitivu district	Mullaitivu	Red Cross report says 71 Tamil civilians were registered missing since last year, after they were arrested by the Sri Lankan army close to the A9 trunk road. Although this is the official number registered, the actual number missing could be far more, a Red Cross official said.
